The
South Saskatchewan Wind Ensemble is an audition wind ensemble that will

most challenging repertoire available to wind ensembles including
standards by Holst and Grainger and newer works by Tichelli and Whitacre.
Rehearsals will be held weekly on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
(location TBA). Sectionals will run from 11:00 to 12:00 with full band
from 12:00 to 2:00. The SSWE will be conducted by Lindsay Stetner. Section
instructors include Laura Pettigrew for the flutes, Rick Harris for the
Saxophones, Aaron Burnett for the percussion, and Colin Neufeld for the
low brass.
Sonitus
is a brass choir that is beginning in the fall of 2009. This carefully
chosen group will consist of 5 trumpets, 3 French horns, 4 trombones, 1
euphonium and 2 tubas. Repertoire for the season is being picked and will
included Pictures at an Exhibition, Elsa’s Processional to the
Cathedral, and the theme to Beetlejuice. In December, Sonitus will be
playing and hosting a fundraising banquet.
“Saskatchewan
Lions Band”
This year the
“Saskatchewan Lions Band” partnership moved up a class to AA donned
the Pride of the Lions uniforms for the MACBDA Tour.
The marching band is fortunate
to have the expertise of many RLB alumni, marching instructors Chad Huel
and Mike Farmer, and Percussion instructors Chris and Jeff Worthington.

Presently, the
SLB has forty-three members and we are still actively recruiting for more.
In this regard, the RLB is offering one-time scholarships in the

for the entire year and tour is only $500.00.
The 2007 fall
marching season begins with band camp on Sept 21, 22, 23 at Camp Easter
Seal at Manitou Beach near Watrous. More details TBA.
Camp fees are included in your $300 marching fees, or are $100 if
you are not registered in the marching program.
Marching clinics
will be held once a month in Saskatoon at various locations.
Out of town students are billeted with families from Saskatoon. For
those who require billeting the cost is $5/day. Clinic times &
locations will be announced later.
